I also think Wall Knight is underrated as a late control hero. Choosing both these heroes means not getting access to Solar Flare (arguably the most popular and flexible plant hero). Therefore, at least from a popularity point of view, the best advice for hero choice appears to be:įor the plants side, while Chompzilla is certainly great hero with some flexibility to play Tempo or Control, Spudow has much less flexibility and (thus far to me) there is only one viable playstyle – big minion delay then burst, although to be fair, this is very strong anti-aggro and not a bad choice for beginners. The most competitive Impfinity decks require expensive cards like Plank Walker, however.īased on popularity alone, Chompzilla is preferred over Wall Knight, and Rustbolt is preferred over Impfinity. Impfinity can only play faster playstyles, but it isn't difficult to build a cheap aggro deck with Impfinity. I also think Rustbolt is great for deck tinkerers (in general Brainy class is great for tinkerers), and although expensive cards will help, you don't really need them to build a decent Rustbolt deck. Rustbolt appears to only be able to play slower playstyles, and is arguably the best late control hero among all zombies. I have never played Rustbolt, so my views may not be reliable. Gargologist, Energy Drink Zombie, Overstuffed Zombie) The Smash is expected to become a really strong hero after all the Festivus cards becomes available (e.g. Zombie King, Coffee Zombie, Nurse Gargantaur). I personally think The Smash is great for deck tinkerers, but most of the interesting cards are relatively expensive (e.g. While The Smash can play aggro (pets or sports), it is usually a slower mid-range or control deck, featuring many big (and expensive) minions. Control Boogaloo is more expensive but it is possible to cobble together a decent mid-range one with only a few cheap gargantaurs. Aggro Boogaloo is pretty cheap, and you can play either Pets or Dancers. He appears to have great flexibility to play aggro (Mega-Grow) or control (Solar), and doesn't appear to need many expensive cards to build a good deck (strikethrough minions and re-peat moss are both cheap).Įlectric Boogaloo can play either aggro or control. ![]() ![]() I have actually never played Chompzilla myself so my views may not be reliable. Expensive (and very strong) variants of Wall Knight also exist of course. I have previously written a guide on Wall Knight which is great for F2P players since it doesn't involve many expensive cards. Wall Knight is a hero which can only play slow, i.e. These cards also give him flexibility to play either aggro or control. That said, Spudow has a wide range of defensive (Guardian) and offensive (Kabloom) cards, and Deck Tinkerers often enjoy experimenting and finding out what works for Spudow. ![]() In the current meta, Spudow is a relatively weak Hero. In terms of playstyle, Solar Flare is flexible enough to play either aggro or control. In the current meta at least, it is considered the strongest Plant Hero, but it needs several expensive cards before it can reach its full potential. If you're a player who wants to win, and is willing to dole out cash, Solar Flare is probably one of your must-choose Heroes. Is it winning? Is is tinkering with deck ideas? Or do you just like the animations because they look so cool? Finally, do you have a preferred playstyle? Do you like to rush your opponents down quickly (aggro), or do you like to remove your opponents minions until he has nothing left and you steamroll over him late game (control)? One important consideration is: are you going to be an F2P or are you willing to dole out cash? Another important consideration is what exactly gives you enjoyment when you play the game. Among these four, it is worthwhile for beginning players to do some research and see which hero they prefer BEFORE they make their second choice hero. Note: The hero you did not choose in the 1st selection will always reappear in the 2nd selection.Ĭhoice 2a: Solar Flare -> Spudow vs Wall KnightĬhoice 2b: Spudow –> Chompzilla vs Solar FlareĬhoice 2a: Electric Boogaloo -> Rustbolt vs The SmashĬhoice 2b: The Smash -> Electric Bogaloo vs Impfinity,Ĭhompzilla, Wall Knight, Rustbolt and Impfinity will only appear as a 3rd hero choice if you make a specific second hero choice. Which is pretty amazing, because starting heroes make a pretty big deal, and given that beginning players would have no clue which choice would be better, I would imagine this would be a pretty important topic to write on. I tried to do some research, but amazingly I can’t find any articles on starting hero choice.
